The Fish and the Bird
She walked the path amidst the roses,
Her human form took shape under the full moon,
As under the willow trees he awaits,
Through prophecies foretold,
He gazed upon her and knew they are true.
Her pale white skin brushes against each rose petal,
Her eyes of a mystic blue watch him,
Destiny reaches its peak,
He holds his hand out to her,
Then she knew,
They belonged together.
Many a days he recalled that night,
He longed for his soul mate,
She was his alone,
The memory of her scent made him lose focus,
His mission yet to be accomplished.
He was the hunter,
Wings of gold spread over the skies,
In his half falcon form, he grazed over the seas,
Watching his for his prey,
Feeling the salty air touch his yellow skin,
Then he found her.
Beauty in figure and graceful in her movements,
His claws grew as he swept down to grab her,
The thick long nails pierced through the scales that rippled over her body,
He flew his delicious catch to shore,
The prize of immortality in his grasp.
She was turned over to be feasted upon,
By now, the clouds of death drew near,
Then time stopped,
His breath quickened,
Tears formed in his eyes,
My love
